You don't need us to tell you things have changed.. and they haven't stopped yet! The world is now
the consumers oyster and they are embracing it just as fast as technology will take them there!

Whilst the physical number of people shopping in your local 'capture area' hasn't changed, their spending habits have! The physical shopping mall was invented to give consumers a wide range of products in a small area, combined with a major food retailer\draw-card. This offered convenience of speciality shopping plus ease of parking to consumers.. The 'new' shopping malls are now virtual! I don't even need a car, just an internet connection and I can shop the world in my pyjamas if I wish! The internet has opened huge opportunities for 'global' foot traffic, not just your local demographic,
who are now blowing some of their 'weekly spend money' online..

We recently flew over to the Retailers and E-commerce Expo in Sydney gave some interesting insight into shopping trends world wide. People are now 'online savy' and confident enough to shop online and they are going there in droves! The conference had some of the 'Who's who' in retailing and experts from around the world. The 'Future of Fashion' was particularly interesting, with a jammed theatre and a 'sitting on floor' crowd in attendance. Read the 'blunt' warning from the experts on the Expo page.
